Our club mission is about self-development and personal growth through effective martial arts. We pride ourselves in the progress of our least athletic students over the achievements of our most athletic students.

We seek to train with anyone who is willing to open his or her mind to quality martial arts without ego, and to learn in a relaxed, friendly yet competitive environment. We stay true to the theory that our classes favour technique and efficiency of movement over brute force, and will not tolerate any aggressive attitudes or disrespectful behaviour in our gym.

Respect is earned here through dedication to training and a friendly and polite attitude inside and outside the classes. Equip yourself with the ability to effectively defend yourself, or the technique to excel in competition, achieving self-discipline, obtaining a healthy body and mind, and gaining great friends along the way. AM I FIT ENOUGH TO TRAIN BJJ?

If you have/had any medical condition whatsoever you should get permission from your doctor prior to any sort of athletic training. If you do have any ongoing medical conditions please speak to one of the instructors, in confidence, prior to training.

BJJ is based on techniques designed to allow a smaller, weaker person to defeat a bigger, stronger attacker, so it doesn’t necessarily matter how big or small you are. If you’re big, no problem. Small, skinny, even if you think your “weak”… it doesn’t matter. BJJ techniques can be applied by anyone because it’s based on leverage and positioning… and the added benefit is that you’ll get stronger, healthier and fitter from training with us.

You don’t have to be Flexible…
You don’t have to be Strong…
You don’t have to have Previous Athletic Experience…
You don’t have to want to compete…
You don’t have to be In Shape…

No matter your age, sex, previous experience (even if you have none at all), whether you’re in shape or out of shape, strong or not, no matter what kind of job you have, do what you can and over the coming weeks and months you will improve. It also helps build mental skills as well as physical skills, improvements to concentration, confidence, tenacity to name but a few.
